AKI has an incidence of up to 53 among critically ill patients with severe pneumonia due to Influenza A H1N1, which increases morbidity and mortality by up to 20-251. Administration of intravenous fluids is an essential component for the management of hemodynamic instability in these patients, but a positive fluid balance has been associated with a poor prognosis2-3.
